Wig Care Guide
Blush & Luxe: The Ultimate Wig Care Guide
To keep your Blush & Luxe wig looking salon-fresh and luxurious, follow these simple steps for washing, styling, and storage.
1. Detangling (Before Washing)
Always detangle your wig before it gets wet. Use a wide-tooth comb or a specialized wig brush. Gently start from the ends and work your way up to the roots to prevent shedding.
2. Washing Your Wig
- Step 1: Fill a basin with cool or lukewarm water (never hot).
- Step 2: Mix in a small amount of sulfate-free wig shampoo.
- Step 3: Submerge the wig and gently swirl it. Do not rub or scrub the hair.
-
Step 4: Rinse thoroughly in cool water until the soap is gone.
3. Conditioning
Apply a high-quality conditioner from the mid-lengths to the ends (avoid the lace or the knots/roots, as this can cause shedding). Leave it for 3–5 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
4. Drying
- Gently pat the wig with a soft towel to remove excess water. Do not wring or twist it.
- Place the wig on a wig stand and let it air dry completely.
- Tip: Avoid brushing your wig while it is wet, as this can stretch and damage the fibers.
5. Styling & Heat
- If your wig is Human Hair, you can use heat tools as you would your own hair.
- If your wig is Synthetic, only use heat if it is labeled "Heat Resistant." Always use the lowest heat setting possible.
- Always apply a heat protectant spray before using flat irons or curlers.
6. Storage
When not in use, store your wig on a wig stand or a mannequin head. This helps maintain the cap shape and prevents tangling. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
